Josh played for three seasons as a two-way player for the Spartans and was the Opening Day starting pitcher in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He also appeared in a combined 89 games in the field, starting 40 games as the designated hitter, 13 in right field, 9 in left field, 7 at third base, 5 at first base, along with 15 pinch hit appearances.

Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Josh currently resides in Pleasant Hill, CA with his wife Paris and daughter Juliet. Josh's grandfather moved to the United States from Cairo, Egypt in the early 1950’s, and he is the only known player of Egyptian descent to play professional baseball outside of Pittsburgh Pirates 1982 1st rounder Sam Khalifa.
"Coach Nashed's maturity, care for players and honest communication make him unique. He is the rare mix of young and extremely mature. Although he was an athlete just a few years ago, Coach Nashed understands the industry that college baseball has become. He'll give families clarity to find the right fit through this tough process."

10-year D1 head coach & Team USA Gold-Medalist coach
